Help page for Pet License
The pet license ID number is in the paperwork you were given when you had your pet injected with the RFID chip.
There are many reasons to license your pet:
- Public health. Licensed pets result in fewer strays on the street eating trash and spreading disease.
- Reuniting lost pets with owners. Dog tags are not as secure as injected RFID chips and may come off.
- Reduce overpopulation. Increased fees for a "intact animal" license will encourage more owners to opt to spay or neuter their pet.
- Enhanced government revenue. The more taxes, the better service.
The RFID chip implanted under the skin of the neck transmits via radio waves the License ID number to the scanner.
With the ID number, the owner's address can be accessed over the internet in the national pet ID database.
